Blackpool and The Fylde College is one of the largest and most successful general further education colleges in the north west of England providing further and higher education learning opportunities for local, regional and national client groups.
It operates from four major campuses and three learning centres located along a seventeen mile stretch of the Fylde coastline and includes the recently opened University campus in central Blackpool. The College has a significant number of training courses that have been developed to meet the needs of employers, and is the leading FE college provider of nuclear related training in the North West. The College is an Associate College of Lancaster University and is designated as a national Beacon of Excellence for Equality and Diversity and for Leadership in Curriculum Innovation and Development.
The high quality education and training provided by Blackpool and The Fylde College has been recognised nationally through both Ofsted Grade 1 and Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Commended. They are the only GFEC in the country to receive both accolades for their HE and FE provision, reflecting the unique ability of the College to provide the highest level of service and partnership with employers. Advanced Engineering programmes are offered from Level 2 to Level 6 (inclusive), providing students from a wide spectrum of educational backgrounds with the opportunity to engage in engineering education from further education through to undergraduate programmes. The College has committed to the future of engineering skills in the UK through significant investment in a new £12.5 million Advanced Technology Centre which will house Advanced Engineering facilities.
