NSAN Unlocking Canadian Partnership Opportunities for UK Training Providers

The National Skills Academy Nuclear (NSAN) is hosting a strategic meeting for members of its Nuclear Training network of providers, focusing on the exciting opportunities arising from the new partnership with Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Sask Polytech).

This initiative follows the landmark five-year exclusive agreement between NSAN and Sask Polytech, which empowers Sask Polytech to deliver NSAN’s nuclear training programmes across Canada. This partnership presents a significant opportunity for NSAN’s Nuclear Training Network providers to play a direct role in supporting this international initiative, not only within Canada but potentially in other countries as well, as similar collaborations and expansion may be explored in the future.

Saskatchewan is on the path to implementing small modular reactors (SMRs) as part of its strategy to decarbonise its electrical grid and meet the province’s growing energy demands. Despite being one of the world’s largest uranium producers, Saskatchewan currently has no operational nuclear power stations, making this transition both pivotal and timely.

The meeting will provide a comprehensive overview of the partnership’s scope, including the suite of courses now available to the Canadian market. Key programmes currently on offer include the respected Growing Awareness in Nuclear (GAIN) course and Introduction to the Nuclear Industry for Senior Leaders. Providers will gain insight into how they could potentially get involved in expanding on this delivery to Canada, and possibly other international markets, as part of this agreement.

This approach is designed to strengthen professional connections between the UK and Canada and create new pathways for growth and development within the Nuclear Training Network, with an eye towards future opportunities in additional countries.

NSAN is delighted to present these collaborative opportunities to members of our Nuclear Training Network. We anticipate a highly productive session that will explore how our network of training providers could play a pivotal role in shaping the future of nuclear skills development in Canada and potentially beyond.

The meeting will take place on the 11th November 2025. If you are from one of our Nuclear Training Network members and would like to be involved, please contact your Client Relationship Manager for more information.
