NSAN Establishes New Skills Advisory Board to Drive Collaborative Action on Skills

In preparation for an exciting renaissance within the nuclear industry, NSAN has undergone a comprehensive review of its industry-led groups. With the endorsement of the ‘Voice of the Supply Chain’ group members, NSAN has strategically realigned the group and its Terms of Reference, transforming it into the NSAN Skills Advisory Board.

The newly formed NSAN Skills Advisory Board is committed to providing guidance on future developmental initiatives across NSAN’s three primary business areas: Membership, Commercial, and Competence & Assessment.  Drawing on the latest industry advancements, including updates and recommendations from the Nuclear Skills Strategy Group (NSSG), the Board aims to:

(a) influence developments and related investment in skills and
(b) recommend areas for collaborative action on skills, where NSAN should take an active leadership role on behalf of the industry.

Following a widespread invitation to the NSAN membership to join the Skills Advisory Board, an impressive response was received.

Today [Thursday 12th October 2023] marked the first meeting of the new NSAN Skills Advisory Board.

The NSAN Advisory Board consists of representatives from AWE, Bureau Veritas, DSRL, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, Jacobs UK Ltd, Magnox Ltd, MoD, NDA, NIS Ltd, Nuvia, Oakridge, ONR, Rolls-Royce, Sellafield, STS Defence, Swagelok, University of Cumbria, and Westinghouse.
