NSAN’s Raife Cooper Joins the BECBC Shadow Board

NSAN is delighted to announce that our Digital Marketing Officer, Raife Cooper, has been appointed as a board member on Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster’s (BECBC) Shadow Board.

The BECBC Shadow Board is committed to providing a platform for young professionals (aged 18 to 30) to get involved in important conversations about key development and growth opportunities for young professionals in Cumbria.

Raife started his role as Digital Marketing Officer at NSAN in August 2021 after completing a degree in Graphic Design & Illustration. In that time Raife has become an integral part of the NSAN team, managing NSAN’s social media and supporting the wider communication activities of NSAN.

Tricia Austin, Managing Director of NSAN commented:
“This is an excellent opportunity for Raife to participate in valuable discussions with young professionals at similar stages of their careers. It is important, now more than ever, to have young people involved in the conversations that impact them and their careers, and we at NSAN are thrilled that Raife is not only included in these discussions, but also passionate about them. Attracting more young people into the nuclear industry is a prevalent topic in our sector, and the BECBC Shadow Board aim to showcase and promote what young people can bring to companies.”

Commenting on his new appointment, Raife said:
“I’m looking forward to working with such an amazing and talented group of young professionals. Being a representative of NSAN on the Shadow Board will allow me to have access to wider opportunities to grow within the sector and outside of NSAN. I am looking forward to making valuable connections supporting the work of the Shadow Board. It is an exciting time for the nuclear industry, in particular skills for nuclear.”

Rhianna Smith, BECBC Shadow Board Chair, commented:
“On behalf of the BECBC Shadow Board, I’m thrilled to extend the warmest of welcomes to Raife and the other new young members joining our dynamic team. Our mission to Empower the Next Generation isn’t just a statement—it’s a promise we’re determined to keep, fostering growth, learning, and collaboration with BECBC members. This is an exciting new era for us and we’re delighted to have Raife and the other new volunteers to bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the Shadow Board, supporting young people in our local areas and within the BECBC membership.”
