NSAN Shortlisted for BECBC Business Award
NSAN is delighted to have been shortlisted for an award at the BECBC Business Awards 2022 to be held in May.
NSAN is a finalist for the Innovation and Creativity Award for the GAIN programme, which was first developed to support the onboarding of new entrants to the industry during the Covid lockdown restrictions.
Building on the Award for Nuclear Industry Awareness qualification, GAIN has been designed to ease the transition and prepare new entrants for working in the nuclear industry. Designed initially for online delivery, the GAIN programme is delivered as a scheduled multifaceted experience, combining live tutor-led sessions with a selection of independent eLearning modules. Online breakout rooms were included to provide learners with the opportunity to put their knowledge to the test and get to know and support each other during the covid restrictions.
The first GAIN programme was successfully delivered to a cohort of Sellafield graduates in September 2020. Subsequently, the programme has been used by a number of other organisations to support the induction and onboarding of graduates and apprentices. As restrictions have eased, companies can choose to progress the course face-to-face, remotely or as a blended approach.
Over 650 learners have completed the training since its launch and with strong demand from companies, the course is proving to be a valuable part of induction programmes for joining apprentices, graduates and those new to nuclear.
Jo Tipa, Managing Director of NSAN said:
“To be shortlisted for the Innovation and Creativity award is great recognition for the hard work by the whole of the team at NSAN in being responsive to the needs of our members. We are extremely enthusiastic about the work that we do and believe that we have developed valuable onboarding support for companies through the GAIN programme.”
