Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund

The Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund is a Registered Charity supporting those working or who have worked in the UK Nuclear Industry and their dependants through the provision of support, signposting and financial assistance.

The Fund was established in 1957 as the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) Benevolent Fund. In 1998 the Fund changed it’s name to the UBA Benevolent Fund and in 2013 it became The Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund.

TNIBF runs  bursary scheme to support individuals already working in the nuclear industry, or preparing for a career in the industry, who are struggling financially to support their chosen route. The bursary is wholly funded by TNIBF and will provide financial support to individuals for education and training opportunities to help them begin or further their professional career in the UK Nuclear Industry.

This bursary will support individuals on programmes of study or training relevant to meeting the future skills demands of the nuclear industry, such as:

- College, Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses
- Apprenticeships and traineeships
- Continued professional development
- Placement, internships and secondments
- Retraining programmes
- Short-term courses
