I joined Doosan Babcock  in 1982 on a Youth Opportunity Programme and was taken on permanently in 1984. During my 36 years with the organisation I’ve  worked on some really interesting projects including the last Nuclear New Build” Sizewell B Power Station” in the late 80’s / 90’s. Whilst I have only worked for 1 company for the majority of my career I have made the most of any career opportunities and progression which has enable me take on a number roles from QA Engineer to Production Manager to Operations Manager to the role I’m currently in as Head of Capacity Planning.

My currently role is really interesting as has it allows me to get involved in future resource planning as well as the current training demand to meet the company’s needs. Being involved in resources and training has currently given me the opportunity to support the MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C on a part time basis.

Outside of work I love to go cycling and walking and I’m a bit of a petrol head on the quiet.

I’ve been with NSAN since the start – 12 years in total.  Business Development Manager in the early days of starting up NSAN, then Operations Director and since December 2017 MD. I’ve come from a background of business management in the Hospitality sector - managing teams, working to deadlines, making the finances work, ensuring that teams were trained -all in the tight constraints of the contracting world.

Away from NSAN I’m a Manchester City supporter … no not a fair-weather one! – I’ve been going 45 years now.

I’ve been with NSAN 11 years, working on the development of key products and services and large Govt and consultancy projects for members.  My Chemical Engineering degree and background in the nuclear industry has given me the unique skill in NSAN of connecting organisations, people, technology and skills together to solve unique problems – there’s isn’t anything that I can’t find some sort of solution too.

Away from work if I’m not being taxi to two “teenagers”, I’ll be either at the gym or in the kitchen cooking up a sweat.
