The National Skills Academy Nuclear welcomes the North Wales Tertiary Alliance to Nuclear Training Network

Partnership strengthens skills pathways in North Wales and supports the workforce needed for the UK’s nuclear future.

The National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) has welcomed North Wales Tertiary Alliance (NWTA) into its Nuclear Training Network, strengthening the link between education and industry to help develop the skilled workforce needed for the UK’s growing nuclear sector.

NSAN works with employers, training providers and partners across the UK to build a skilled, resilient workforce for the future of nuclear. Its Nuclear Training Network connects employers with high-quality, flexible training provision, from entry-level programmes and professional development through to advanced, sector-specific qualifications.

The NWTA brings together further education, higher education, employers and civic partners to create clearer, more connected pathways from learning into employment across North Wales. By aligning provision, sharing expertise and working collaboratively to meet regional priorities, the Alliance is helping to build a more accessible, future-ready skills system that supports individuals, strengthens communities and drives long-term growth.

Nicola Jefferies, Operations Director, NSAN commented:

“The addition of the North Wales Tertiary Alliance to our Nuclear Training Network reflects the growing importance of Wales within the UK’s future nuclear landscape. As major opportunities develop around Wylfa and across the wider nuclear supply chain, it is essential that we work collaboratively to build the skills capability needed to support long-term sector growth.

By bringing together education, industry and regional partners, this partnership will help create sustainable talent pipelines, strengthen local capability and ensure Wales is equipped to develop and retain the skilled workforce needed for the future of nuclear.”

Aled Jones-Griffith, CEO of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and Chair of the North Wales Tertiary Alliance’s Wylfa Working Group commented:

“Joining NSAN’s Nuclear Training Network is a timely and important step for North Wales, particularly as momentum grows around Wylfa. This partnership strengthens our ability to develop a highly skilled local workforce ready to support one of the UK’s most significant clean energy opportunities, while ensuring learners, employers and communities across the region are well placed to benefit.”
